COVID-19 Closures FAQs | Frequently Asked Questions - March 20, 2020

Why is Cottonwood Heights Parks & Recreation Service Area (CHPRSA) closing facilities? When will they re-open? The Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center and the Guthrie Skate Park will be closed to the public until further notice in response to the public health concern of COVID-19. The health and safety of our patrons and staff is our top priority, and we are doing our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor the latest recommendations from the CDC and the Utah Department of Health. Additional closures will be evaluated as circumstances unfold. We will post news online and on our social media channels to keep you updated on the latest information as to when operations may resume.

Will programs and events be canceled? Will I receive a refund? Programs and upcoming events are currently canceled. We are working on solutions for refunds and/or the rescheduling of programming.

Will I receive a refund on my Membership? All annual and quarterly memberships will be extended by the number of days the recreation center is closed.

What about Easy Pay Memberships (monthly fee debited from your bank account)? If you have an Easy Pay Membership that is debited from your account monthly, we will not be pulling funds from your account. When we begin operations, we will prorate your fee based on the length of closure and resume monthly charges.

Are CHPRSA, Cottonwood Heights City and Salt Lake County Parks closed too? The parks (with the exception of the Skate Park) are open to the public. However, please remember to keep your 6-foot social distancing and keep gatherings under 10 people. Park restrooms are also currently closed.

What we do and what you can do to help fight the coronavirus at CHRC.

With the recent concern over the coronavirus, we want you to feel confident while using the Recreation Center. As a result, we have enhanced some of our cleaning procedures in the interest of our patrons’ safety and health.

We have custodial staff working diligently from 5:00 AM until 1:30 AM, daily, to keep the building sanitized and clean. We are taking extra precautions on hard surfaces, such as door handles and counters. Fitness equipment and other Facility areas are in the process of being treated with a new E-Spray electrostatic spray gun for added cleaning effectiveness.
